How to play
Read the English definition and find its Chinese word in a randomized grid. Select a complete word rather than tracing letters or picking individual characters. Each round has ten hunts. The board-size setting changes how much visual searching you do, while the number of target words stays the same.
Start with a 50-word board before trying 100 or 150 words. Scan in a consistent direction and read candidate words in full. Similar characters can be useful distractors, so a shared character does not automatically make a word the answer. The board scrolls within its own area on a smaller screen.
After finding the target, study the revealed pronunciation and meaning before moving to the next hunt. If you choose the wrong word, look back at the definition and compare the two forms. A focused practice set limits the possible targets; the rest of the board supplies distractors for the visual search.
Controls
Click or tap the whole-word button that matches the definition. Arrow keys move through the board and Enter or Space selects a focused word. Tab reaches the surrounding controls. Pick the board size above the grid and use untimed play when you want to study forms carefully. Word Hunter always prompts from English to Chinese.
What it trains
Word Hunter develops visual discrimination between whole words in a crowded display. It can expose a habit of reading only the first character or guessing from shape. The grid is not a paragraph and does not train connected reading comprehension. Follow the round with a short passage or a few sentences containing the words you found.
Tips for your next round
Look for the complete target, including word length and second characters. If you keep losing your place, scan one row at a time rather than jumping around. Reduce the board size when speed starts replacing attention. Use the missed-word review after a round to turn visual hesitation into a small, concrete study list.
Questions before you play?
Is this a sentence-reading game?
No. The board is a grid of separate whole words. Use lessons and reading material to practice words in sentences.
Does a bigger board make the round longer?
A round still has ten hunts. A bigger board adds more visual choices per hunt.
